Review: Beautiful Stranger by Christina Lauren

Beautiful StrangerSeries:  Beautiful Bastard #2Author: Christina LaurenPublisher: Gallery BooksGenre:  Adult, ContemporaryRelease Date:  April 16th 2013Pages:  342Format: PaperbackSource: PurchasedView/Purchase:  Goodreads, Chapters/Indigo.ca/KOBO, Amazon, B&N, The Book Depository Rating: Reason chosen:  The first book blew my breath away so I was grabbing for the second when I realized it came out!Summary taken from Goodreads:A charming British Playboy. A girl determined to finally live. And a secret liaison revealed in all too vivid color. Book two in the NYT Bestselling series. Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon's moved to New York City and is looking for excitement without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night's fun. But the manner--and speed--with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger. The whole city knows Max Stella loves women, not that he's ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it's not until Sara--and the wild photos she lets him take of her--that he starts wondering if there's someone for him outside of the bedroom.Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.Review:Turn on the air conditioner. Better yet, crank it up high. The sexy sexy writing of Christina Lauren is back. Now the first one set the bar and I was all over and loving the first book. This one was pretty friggin awesome too. Maybe it was the crazy place, or maybe it was the sexy accent (probably the sexy accent), but I was drawn into this crazy whirlwind romance. Now there were some moments that I didn’t really see the appeal in (the camera moments with just a hand on the hip, and there was a lot of those moments) so, it wasn’t as great as the first one. But, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t crazy good. It was. It was. And I definitely like Max. Tehehehehe. There was some background story, some Bennet and Chloe, a lot of sexy moments. The smile that I had made my face ache. And, I am so excited for the next book in the series.Good:Max- max. Maxmaxmaxmaxmax. Mmmmm...And he actually wants to be in a relationship. Dear lordy. Here is how I pictured Max. And, he even has the sexy accent to match.Sara--Messed up and for good reasons. But she is feisty and trying to be free. I like her.Bad: Well I guess some stuff I wasn’t really feeling, and it wasn’t as passionate as the first for me. Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):Overall it was sexerific. It was Purrrty. It made me giggle, and made me angry. It was the right amount of ou la la, and yeah! The writing of Christina Lauren is just as awesome as it was in the first book, but the characters and the stories are very different, which is something that I always love. It had me guessing and wondering what was going to happen, while it also had me smiling and loving these characters every minute. There were some moments when I thought “uummm...ok” but there were many more times when I was busy giggling. I can’t wait for the next in the series.Previously In the Series:Beautiful Bastard (#1)-> Click for reviewBeautiful Bitch (#1.5)Next in the Series:Beautiful Bombshell (#2.5) ETA: September 3rd 2013(No Cover Art As of Yet)Beautiful Player (#3) ETA: October 29th 2013(No Cover Art As of Yet)Beautiful Beginning (#3.5) ETA: November 18th 2013Viewer Type Recommendation:If you are a lover of some seriously steamy and romantic...well, romance novels, then this is for you.If you liked this you'll probably love:The Proposition by Katie Ashley, Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde, The Billionaire’s Christmas Baby by Victoria James, A Risk Worth Taking by Victoria James, The Baby Bargain by Jennifer Apodaca Breathless series by Maya Banks, Fable & Drew series by Monica Murphy, Wait For You by J. This is not the first erotic romance they’ve ever written . . . but it is the first one under this name. Separated by the pesky state of Nevada, these co-author besties talk several times a day, agree that Ruby Pumps is the best nail polish color ever, and would, if given the choice, spend all day staring at the ocean from the San Clemente pier.Author Website/Blog: http://www.christinalaurenbooks.com/blogFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/beautifulbastardTwitter: @seeCwrite, and @lolashoesPhotobucket
