Latest News: Gotze will be a world star: Rummenigge

Rummenigge: Gotze will be a world starThe Germany legend has backed the starlet to flourish at the Allianz Arena following his summer switch from Borussia Dortmund Mario Gotze's move to Bayern Munich will help him flourish into one of the world's best players, according to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The Bayern CEO believes Gotze made the right choice in making the controversial €37 million summer switch from Borussia Dortmund, insisting the player is in the right surroundings to continue his development."He's on the way to world stardom and will make this step at Bayern," Rumenigge told reporters."He has the quality to continue to make us successful."Gotze has yet to make his official Bayern debut as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, but Rummenigge believes die Roten are well placed to replicate last season's historic success once the full squad is back to fitness."In addition to Gotze, we have Javi Martinez, Thiago and [Bastian] Schweinsteiger who are yet to reach their best condition, but when they do, Bayern will win with beautiful football," he said.

Scientists Invent A Shirt That Does Not Require Washing

Guys are usually least bothered about ironing their clothes, or ironing themselves. They would rather pay the laundry guy to wash and iron their clothes for them. You’ll find that most of them wear shirts for too long without getting them washed, that’s just the general average guy psyche!         For all such guys there is a new kind of men’s shirt being developed and brought to market that will solve this laundry problem, viable solution for this is; Wool&Prince. The creators have claimed three things; It will not wrinkle. It will not get dirty. It will not smell.

Can Johnny Manziel Win the Heisman Trophy for a Second Time?

In the seventy-seven year history of the Heisman Trophy, it’s happened one time. Archie Griffin, a former running back from Ohio State is the only repeat winner of the most coveted individual award in collegiate football (‘74-‘75). In recent years, there’s been more talk of possible Heisman repeat winners with Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford and Mark Ingram hoisting the trophy as sophomores. Yet, none of them were able to repeat Griffin’s feat. Can Johnny Manziel, Heisman’s first freshman winner, raise the trophy for a second time?At first glance, one might say “Yes! Without a doubt!” Manziel broke the SEC record in 2012 for total offense with 5,116 yards…as a redshirt freshman. As the season progressed, Johnny Football’s prowess on the field grew with each game. He seemed to find pressure situations as a prime opportunity to demonstrate his ability to evade would-be tacklers and scamper for the end zone. In what has been considered his “Heisman Moment” he seemingly made something out of nothing as he fumbled the ball, recovered it himself and subsequently threw a touchdown.Yet, as with the previous sophomore Heisman winners, the opportunity for repeat becomes an even more daunting goal than escaping a four-man rush. Preseason picks for the 2012 didn’t have Johnny Manziel’s name anywhere in the Top 25. Just as in the year before when Robert Griffin, III, emerged as unforeseen winner, Cam Newton in 2010 and Mark Ingram in 2009.Does the pressure of being a pre-season Heisman choice affect the player’s ability on the field? Possibly. Opposing defenses study the schemes, breakdown film and hope to be more prepared the second time they face them (Nick Saban anyone?) You can bet first time coaches in the SEC like Arkansas’ Bret Bielema and Gus Malzahn’s Auburn squad will be aiming to prove their worth by doing what very few others could: contain Manziel. What also must be taken into consideration is the loss of A&M’s offensive tackle Luke Joeckel to the NFL and former offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury’s move to the head coaching position at Texas Tech.Outside pressures also can factor into their ability to focus all their attention on the football field. The target on their backs grows infinitely larger as their name is mentioned more in the media. For Johnny Manziel, this seems to be the case more than ever with past Heisman winners. In the months since his winning the trophy, Manziel has allowed his Twitter feed to become fodder for those questioning his maturity and ability to handle his newfound fame. He doesn’t attend classes with the other students at Texas A&M, choosing rather to take them online. Manziel’s been on the sidelines of NBA games, surrounded by mounds of money at gambling establishments and most recently publically ridiculed College Station over an apparent parking violation.Of the last five winners of the Heisman Trophy, outside of Manziel, Tim Tebow probably was the most publically revered and scrutinized. Yet, his intense focus on the sport did not wane. But even with his innate ability to motivate his teammates, with his famous “I promise” speech after the Ole Miss loss in 2008, Tebow could never get any closer in winning another Heisman than his third place finish behind Colt McCoy and winner Sam Bradford in 2008.In order for Manziel to repeat as a Heisman winner his athletic skills are going to have to be as least as proficient as they were in 2012, if not more so. But also his ability to handle the pressure from not only within the confines of the football stadium, but also those outside in the “real world” will have to be more proficient as well. September 14, 2013 at College Station will be the first real test for the former when the Aggies face two-time defending BCS Champions, the University of Alabama. The recent few weeks for Manziel don’t speak well for the latter. Can Johnny Manziel repeat as a Heisman Winner? Who would’ve thought he would’ve won it as a freshman? Anything is possible, but in reality, seeing Manziel raise the trophy again in 2013 is not very probable. - Amy Norris@amyjane72amy.projectcfb@gmail.com

The Rock's 'Hercules' Diet -- 7 Meals a Day, 3 lbs of Meat, 14 Eggs!!!

If you're wondering what it takes to look like The Rock (aside from ridiculous genetics), the new "Hercules" star just revealed the diet he maintains to play the son of Zeus -- and it's unbelievable. Rock just posted the breakdown on Twitter -- and it includes 7 full meals with ridiculous quantities of food, including rice, 14 egg whites, all kinds of vegetables, and more than 3 POUNDS of meat. It's been working too ... Rock's been posting pics of himself during filming (above) and he's more jacked than ever. Unfortunately, you can't just eat like The Rock to look like him ... you kinda have to go to the gym too.....Maybe tomorrow.

'All the Boys Love Mandy Lane' Starring Michael Welch Gets a Release Date

photo alltheboyslovemandylane_zps4f672328.jpgIn the world of horror thrillers, the anticipation of what's to come can be the best part. So with Monday's announcement that "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" will be released on demand on Sept. 6 and in theaters Oct. 11 — some seven years after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival — horror fans will finally get a look at what they've been waiting for.Following its acquisition out of Toronto a series of events put the film into a rights limbo that caused it to sit on the shelf in the U.S. even as it was released elsewhere around the world.A Texas-set story of high school kids whose trip to a remote ranch for a weekend of partying turns into a bloodbath when someone starts picking them off, the film turned out to be quite the incubator of young talent. Director Jonathan Levine made his feature debut with the film and went on to direct the cancer comedy "50/50" and this year's sleeper hit zombie romance "Warm Bodies. In the title role, "Mandy Lane" was a key breakout for actress Amber Heard, who has gone on to star in the short-lived TV show "The Playboy Club" and films such as "Drive Angry" with Nicolas Cage and "The Rum Diary" with Johnny Depp. She starred in the recent film "Syrup" and will be seen in the upcoming "Paranoia" with Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, "Three Days To Kill," directed by McG and Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills."Actor Michael Welch would go on to play Mike Newton in the "Twilight" films, while Anson Mount appeared on TV's "Hell on Wheels." Among the producers of Mandy Lane is Keith Calder, who has more recently worked on the film "You're Next," the home invasion thriller that premiered at Toronto in 2011 and will be released to theaters later this summer.Audiences will finally get to discover for themselves if "Mandy Lane" was worth waiting for.Via Gossip_Dance, LA Times, @larry411

Weekend Update: A Little More Hubris And The First Chink In The Armor

Articles and news stories published over the past few days evidence a weak response by proponents of the Bi-County Parkway and the first sign of backtracking by the McDonnell administration. Strangely, the proponents response to last week's hearings and public outcry was underwhelming to say the least.  Apart from a staunch Connaughton supporter (read sycophant) defending the Dark Lord on several local blogs, the only other posting in support of the route was an editorial by Roger Snyder published in Friday's WAPO.  Not surprisingly, the editorial evidenced a level of hubris that has come to be expected of those in support of the Bi-County Parkway.  Mr. Snyder asserts that "glib quips bloated by hyperbole make for attention-getting sound bites, but they should not be allowed to unravel the three-plus decades of methodical planning that has brought the road this far".  I would suggest that Mr. Snyder's letter is marked by the very "glib quotes bloated by hyperbole" that he accuses opponents of using.  In fact, such tactics have actually been the stock in trade of those pushing the Bi-County Parkway as evidenced by his written statements.  He merely parrots the time-worn arguments, arguments that have been shown to be without factual basis, made by the CTB, VDOT and the various Chambers over the past six months.  Merely repeating that there are no other options, the road will ease traffic on I-66, its merely a "concept corridor", it will spur economic development in PWC and that the process has been transparent does not make those statements any more factual than they were six months ago.  It has been demonstrated that there are several other options, the impact on I-66 is unknown, it likely will not provide PWC an economic advantage and the process has been far from transparent.  Lastly, although Mr. Snyder discloses that he was the "Prince William County director of planning, chief executive of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association and the City of Manassas director of community development", positions from which he has retired, he does not disclose that he remains active in the development field as the owner of RWS Aerial Photography which provides aerial photographs for local developers and the Chamber of Commerce as evidenced at the Prince William Chamber of Commerce Commercial Real Estate Showcase (CRES) recently held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.  Perhaps Mr. Snyder should review the definitions of "transparency" and "full disclosure", telling only half the story and cobbling together questionable "facts" in the form of "glib quips bloated by hyperbole" is the essence of hypocrisy, another quality that has marked proponents' presentations. The more important story however is Hank Silverberg's report posted this morning on WTOP.  It would appear that the recent public outcry may have revealed the first chink in the Governor and VDOT's armor.  Taken at face value, it would appear that the Governor has taken notice of public opinion and confirms that "Part of the plan is being revisited as the state moves through a series of public meetings".  What part of the plan is anybody's guess but one would presume that the most likely segment in question would be the Bi-County Parkway.  In any event, it would appear that now is the time to turn up the heat to ensure that the Governor remains focused on that opposition.

Evolution: A Course for Educators

Now You Too Can Be IndoctrinatedEvolutionist Joel Cracraft’s course Evolution: A Course for Educators is “informed” by those Next Generation Science Standards. That reminds us of how after the 2005 Dover trial, kangaroo-court Judge John Jones explained that his education for the case came from popular culture. And in this case, “popular culture” means evolutionary lies:When I went to law school in the late ’70s, I followed the progression of cases that we talked about before. I understood the general theme. I'd seen Inherit the Wind. For anyone, much less a federal judge, to cite Inherit the Wind as a legitimate, educational resource reveals how deeply evolutionary thought and its lies have penetrated the culture. The only educational value of Inherit the Wind is its lesson in evolutionary lies, and just how far they will go.You see the main tools of evolutionists are lies, and if evolution is to survive they must indoctrinate students with those lies, and if students are to be indoctrinated then teachers must first be indoctrinated. Enter Joel Cracraft who will teach educators about the “evidence” that supports evolution. While he is at it perhaps he can include the “evidence” that supports blood-letting and the flat Earth.
